Crystal Palace star, Eberechi Eze, reflects on how rejections from clubs like Arsenal have played a pivotal role in shaping his career.
Having been let go by Arsenal during his youth, Eze also faced disappointments at Fulham, Reading, and Millwall.
Additionally, both Sunderland and Bristol City turned down opportunities to sign him.
Despite these setbacks, Eze found success at Queens Park Rangers and has become a valuable player since joining Crystal Palace.
Speaking to Premier League Production, he shared, “Being released at a young age was challenging. It was emotional, and everyone felt the disappointment – that’s the reality at that tender age.
“However, looking back now, I see it as the starting point of my journey, and I am thankful for the way things unfolded. Without that experience, I might not have developed the resilience and courage to pursue my ambitions elsewhere. It has molded me into the person I am today.”
Notably, Eze sealed a memorable victory for Crystal Palace with the decisive goal in their recent 1-0 triumph over Liverpool.
