Ex-Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Dosu: Losing to Mali in Friendly Match is Nothing to Worry About

In a recent friendly match at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, Mali emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over the Super Eagles, marking the first time in 49 years that they secured a win against their West African counterparts.

Dosu Joseph, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper, believes that the team should not overly fixate on this defeat.

According to Dosu, losing to Mali in a friendly match should not raise any major concerns for Nigerians. Friendly games like these are intended to help assess different players before the World Cup qualifiers kick off in June.

He emphasized that the players had put in their best efforts, acknowledging that in football, outcomes can sometimes not go your way. Wins and losses are all part of the game.

At this stage, Dosu trusts that the coach now has a clearer understanding of the areas that require improvement within the team before the World Cup qualifiers begin.
