Enyimba’s Victory Over Heartland Sees Finidi Applaud Nwaiwu’s Performance

Applauding midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu for his outstanding performance in their recent match against Heartland, Enyimba head coach Finidi George expressed his satisfaction.

Impressed by Nwaiwu’s energetic display in an unfamiliar position as a centre-back due to an injury to Pascal Eze during the game, Finidi praised his adaptability.

Highlighting the importance of Nwaiwu’s contribution, Finidi emphasized that the midfielder will play a significant role for the team in the upcoming matches of the season.

Enyimba clinched a narrow 1-0 victory in the game, with Ekene Awazie scoring the solitary goal that secured three crucial points for the nine-time league champions.

Speaking to Enyimba’s media, Finidi remarked, “Nwaiwu has been excelling in the role of a centre-back. His speed and composure make him a formidable presence that opponents find hard to beat and score against.”

Considering the team’s options for the position, Finidi mentioned, “He is currently making a valuable contribution to the team. However, we will assess the performance of other players in that role and make decisions accordingly. We might consider moving him back to the midfield if needed, or explore other options like bringing in a new midfielder. But for now, Nwaiwu remains a key player in our defense.”
