A revealing statement emerged from Brazil football legend, Kaka, shedding light on the 2015 divorce from his ex-wife following an unexpected twist.
Kaka tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Caroline Celico, during his time at AC Milan in 2005. They started a family with a son and daughter but went their separate ways after a decade.
Recently, Celico was reported to have suggested that she initiated the divorce due to Kaka being “too perfect” for her.
However, the 41-year-old Kaka, in a podcast statement covered by the Spanish outlet Sport, maintained that he made every effort to prevent the separation.
He recounted, “In 2015, I was in a marriage, and my then-wife decided she no longer desired to remain married.
“She expressed, ‘I’m not content, and I attribute this discontent to the marriage’.
“I was residing in the United States, and she expressed a wish to return to Brazil.
“Her exact words were, ‘I wish to return to Brazil, establish my life there, and end our marriage’.”
