Details of Chelsea Team Meeting Revealed by Pochettino Ahead of Man City Clash

Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, recently disclosed that he organized a comprehensive meeting with his squad and staff emphasizing the significance of discipline.

This meeting stemmed from an incident during the 6-0 victory against Everton where a dispute arose among the players regarding a penalty kick.

Despite Cole Palmer’s four-goal feat in the game, a scuffle ensued between Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke over a second-half penalty, which required Conor Gallagher to intervene.

Gallagher then handed the ball to Palmer, the designated penalty taker for the team.

Looking ahead to the upcoming FA Cup clash against Manchester City, Pochettino confirmed that he addressed the entire team regarding the incident.

“Following the match, I expressed my sentiments during a collective meeting with the players and staff, which also included the sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley. I outlined the expected behavior during similar situations in the future,” stated Pochettino to the media.

Reflecting on the aftermath of the incident, he added, “The players are aware of the circumstances and the necessary actions moving forward. We engaged in extensive discussions post Monday’s game, and our focus remained on penalty practices throughout Wednesday, Thursday, and today.”
