Another under-bridge apartment discovered in Lagos

In a recent development, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, revealed that the state government has found an unauthorized settlement beneath the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Sharing the news via a post on X.com, Wahab also posted videos of the discovery. In one of the videos, the commissioner stated, “Yet another illicit settlement has been uncovered under the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi.”

“The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial (KAI) wasted no time in commencing a clearance operation,” Wahab added.

This discovery follows recent reports from NewsNow about a similar situation beneath the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi. Allegedly, tenants in that location were paying annual rents of N250,000.

Providing more details, Wahab mentioned that the under-bridge living quarters consisted of 86 partitioned rooms of various sizes, ranging from “10×10” to “12×10”.
