Delta PDP introduces wards and LG caretaker committees

Encouraging unity and strengthening the party structure at the grassroots, the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State inaugurated the Wards and Local Government Caretaker Committees on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the committees at the party’s state secretariat in Asaba, the state Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Esiso, emphasized the importance of following the party’s guidelines and constitution after the extraordinary National Executive Council meeting in Abuja. The party had resolved to allow a three-month interim stay before holding elected party congress.

Esiso urged the newly inaugurated Ward and Local Government PDP executive members to work diligently to validate the trust placed in them.

Highlighting the commitment of State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to inclusivity, Esiso mentioned the Governor’s dedication to serving all Deltans, especially the party executive members.

Praying for divine guidance and wisdom for the newly inaugurated committees, the chairman expressed hopes for a robust PDP in Delta State.

On Tuesday, PDP caucus members in the House of Representatives convened at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

They met prior to a media parley scheduled for the same day by 60 lawmakers loyal to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Meanwhile, PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, commended party leaders and stakeholders for their candid opinions on addressing internal issues before the September 21 state election.

During a meeting with party leaders from Akoko Edo in Benin, Ighodalo emphasized the need to resolve all internal crises within the party, asserting that the PDP remained the only party capable of rescuing the nation.
