In a distressing incident, a 45-year-old man, Samson Adedokun, has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre by the Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court. The accusation against him is that of allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter.
At the court session, the Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, refrained from taking Adedokun’s plea and instructed the police to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for guidance.
The matter has been adjourned until May 8 for the DPP’s recommendations.
Residing in the Iyana-Ipaja locale of Lagos, Adedokun is confronted with a charge of defilement.
Outlined by the Prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, the defendant purportedly committed the act on March 13 at 7 PM within his residence.
According to Ajayi, the accused forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with his own daughter, an abhorrent act that led to his subsequent arrest following a complaint lodged with the police.
The prosecutor cited that the defendant’s actions violate Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
