Sentenced by Justice Mu’azu Abubakar of Bauchi State High Court, Sa’idu Mohammed, aged 39, has received a 14-year prison term for the crime of sodomizing a 12-year-old boy.
While issuing the sentence, Justice Abubakar also provided an option for the convict to pay a fine of N100,000.
Prior to the sentencing, the convict had appealed to the judge for leniency.
In the court hearing, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr. S.M. Toro, presented that on June 16, 2022, the convict enticed the victim to a river in Yelwa community and committed the act of sodomy.
This act was a violation of the provisions of Section 10 and is subject to punishment under Section 11 of the anti-Kidnapping, theft of cattle and Rape Special Provision Laws of Bauchi State B.S.L.N. No. 8 of 2007.
