Xavi Hernandez, the Barcelona manager, attributed their Champions League elimination to referee Istvan Kovacs.
Despite entering the second leg of their quarter-final match against Paris Saint-Germain with a 3-2 lead, the LaLiga giants were ousted in front of their supporters.
After Raphinha put Barca in the lead, Kovacs showed a red card to Ronald Araujo for a last-man tackle.
Following the dismissal, goals from Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, and a brace from Kylian Mbappe secured PSG’s passage to the next round.
Xavi, who was also sent off during the match, expressed his disappointment, stating: “Our Champions League journey has ended due to the referee’s error.
“I simply informed the referee that his performance was disastrous. That’s the harsh reality of it.”
