Warning from Wike to Satellite Towns Coordinator regarding negotiations with contractors

During the inauguration of the Coordinator of Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), Mr. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, in Abuja on Tuesday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, cautioned against engaging in negotiations with contractors.

Emphasizing the importance of contributing to national development, the former Rivers State Governor advised Zulkiflu to actively coordinate activities within the satellite towns rather than spending time in the office negotiating with contractors.

“Your role is to coordinate, interact, and provide updates to me as the FCT minister.

“You are not stationed there to remain in your office engaging in negotiations with contractors. Any such discovery will prompt me to take necessary action,” he stated.

Wike highlighted the FCT Administration’s commitment to ensuring that all satellite towns benefit from government initiatives.

Encouraging the coordinator to seize the opportunity to deliver results and create a significant impact, especially with the various ongoing projects in the satellite towns, the minister expressed hope that residents would experience the effects of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

“My expectation is for you to fulfill your duties. Your actions will speak for themselves.

“I am not fond of flattery. Let your performance speak on your behalf.

“Given the FCTA’s active involvement in the development of satellite towns, ensure that operations are carried out meticulously,” Wike reiterated.
