In a recent appearance on the American show Sway’s Universe, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, opened up about his lack of communication with his industry counterparts, Wizkid and Burna Boy.
During the interview, host Sway questioned Davido about his connection with Wizkid and Burna Boy, to which Davido responded with a negative nod, indicating the absence of communication between them.
Furthermore, Davido dismissed the notion of being compared to Wizkid and Burna Boy, asserting that he stands alone as a prominent figure in the Afrobeats scene.
Despite the widespread belief that the trio of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy are the top Afrobeats artists globally, Davido emphasized his own individual success in the genre.
Notably, Davido shared in a previous interview that Wizkid and Burna Boy reached out to offer support when he faced a tragic incident involving the loss of his first son, Ifeanyi, in a swimming pool accident.
