UK’s Perspective on Israel’s Response to Iran’s Attacks and Calls for New Sanctions

The decision by Israel to take action has been acknowledged by the United Kingdom.

In response to Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel, which were successfully intercepted with assistance from the UK, US, France, and Jordan, the UK has hinted at the possibility of imposing new sanctions on Iran.

During a discussion with journalists in Israel, the Foreign Secretary emphasized the need for the G7 to send a strong, unambiguous message to Iran through sanctions.

Expressing support for Israel’s stance, he mentioned, “It is evident that the Israelis are preparing to take action. Our hope is that any action taken will not intensify the situation unnecessarily.”

He emphasized the importance of focusing efforts on addressing Hamas, dealing with the hostages, facilitating aid delivery, and achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.

While in Israel, Cameron plans to hold discussions with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, as well as make a visit to the occupied West Bank.
