Tinubu Provides Scholarships for Children of Slain Soldiers

During the burial ceremony of the Nigerian Army members killed in Delta State on March 14, 2024, President Bola Tinubu honored 17 fallen soldiers by conferring upon them national accolades.

In a compassionate gesture, he announced the provision of housing facilities and university-level scholarships for all the children of the deceased soldiers. Additionally, Tinubu instructed that death benefits be disbursed to the grieving families within a span of 90 days.

This announcement was made at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja where the burial ceremony took place.

Among the soldiers posthumously honored were Lt. Col. A.H Ali, Maj S.D Shafa, Maj D.E Obi, and Capt U Zakari, who were appointed as Members of the Order of the Niger by Tinubu.

The remaining soldiers were granted the title of Officer of the Order of the Niger, including SSgt Yahaya Saidu, Cpl Yahaya Danbaba, Cpl Kabiru Bashir, LCpl Bulus Haruna, LCpl Sola Opeyemi, LCpl Bello Anas, LCpl Hamman Peter, LCpl Ibrahim Abdullahi, Pte Alhaji Isah, Pte Clement Francis, Pte Abubakar Ali, Pte Ibrahim Adamu, and Pte Adamu Ibrahim.
