In a recent episode of the American podcast ‘Business Untitled,’ Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, shared that his achievements in the entertainment realm can be attributed to his personal principles rather than his affluent family background.
Davido pointed out that despite Nigeria boasting numerous billionaires, many coming from wealthier households than his own, there have been wealthy individuals’ offspring who tried to carve a path in music and entertainment without attaining the level of success he has reached.
Stating, “There are plenty of affluent individuals in Nigeria, some even wealthier than my father… I’ve seen children of billionaires attempt to pursue careers in music, entertainment, and business, but my venture has prospered due to the principles I uphold,” he emphasized the significance of his core values.
Reflecting on his journey, Davido acknowledged the initial hurdle he faced stemming from his father’s financial status. However, he expressed gratitude for being acknowledged based on his talent and merit, stating, “My wealth was both a blessing and a challenge when I entered the music scene. I was recognized solely for my talent, and I doubt I would have been accepted otherwise.”
