Being of Igbo descent, Youtuber Sisi Yemmie and her husband encountered an unsettling situation today, March 18, as they were barred from voting due to their appearance. In a tweet, she shared their experience, revealing that when they attempted to enter their polling units in Awoyaya, Lagos state to vote, they were stopped at the gate by individuals who judged their ethnic identity. Despite being born in Lagos state, one of the individuals refused to let them cast their votes, asserting that being born in Lagos did not make her an indigene of the state.
