Two US soldiers have died and a third is “missing in action” after Iranian projectile attacks on US targets on Jordanian soil, as reported by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM). Four other US soldiers have been evacuated for medical reasons to Jordanian hospitals, although “they have already been discharged.”
At the moment no further information has been published about the victims “out of respect for the families” and we are waiting for 24 hours to pass from the notification to publish their names. Ceasefire violations
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has reported attacks against United States positions in the Jordanian military base of Muwaffaq Salti, in the center-north of the country, amid the resumption of hostilities with Washington that are about to derail the preliminary negotiation agreement signed by both countries on June 17. Iranian projectiles have hit hangars with American fighter jets and “a large parking platform.”
Hours earlier, Iran had claimed that a previous attack had hit US fuel depots at the base; an installation that Tehran considers strategic due to its location, its military infrastructure and its role in US operations in West Asia.
In response, the Jordanian Army has reported the downing of four Iranian drones without mentioning any damage to the air base. The Jordanian Armed Forces, in a note collected by the official Petra news agency.
Khamenei vs. “Great Satan”
For his part, the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, charged this Saturday against the president of the United States, Donald Trump, whom he has criticized for failing to comply with the ceasefire. “The repeated violations of the commitments of the Great Satan (United States) regarding the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the presidents of Iran and the United States demonstrate once again the insignificance and nullity of the signature of the president of the United States.”
The Iranian leader has shamed Washington for “harassment, totalitarianism and barbarism” as “inseparable parts of American ideology and practice.” “Today the Great Satan has revealed his true face again, without masks, with a new experience of crimes and betrayal that demonstrate the lying, illogical, untrustworthy and vile nature of the United States.”
Khamenei considers that the United States seeks to “provoke a war” with “higher costs and greater dishonor.” “He should know that the beloved nation of Iran and the Resistance Front have unforgettable lessons for him with the bravery of the fighters of Islam and the seal of the brave men of the southern region.”
