The mutual termination of Mikel Obi’s contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor, the Turkish football club, has officially announced the exit of Mikel Obi, the former captain of the Super Eagles, after mutually terminating his contract.   "The professional football player agreement between our company and John Obi Mikel on 30.06.2019 start date 31.05.2021 has been mutually terminated. With a mutual termination agreement, the football player gave up all his forward-looking receivables," the club stated in their announcement on Tuesday.   The specific reason for the termination was not disclosed. Blaise Matuidi, Juventus Midfielder, Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Blaise Matuidi, the midfielder for Juventus and France, has become the latest footballer to have tested positive for the coronavirus.   The club's website released a statement that said: "Blaise Matuidi has undergone medical tests that have revealed his positivity to the Coronavirus-COVID-19.   "The player has been in voluntary home isolation since Wednesday, 11th March. He will continue to be monitored and will follow the same regime. He is well and is asymptomatic."
