Reflections from Ilechukwu on Rangers’ triumph in oriental derby clash with Abia Warriors

Sharing his thoughts on the hard-fought victory over Abia Warriors, Rangers head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu emphasized the team’s resilience.

In the gripping oriental derby encounter, the Flying Antelopes emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline.

With this result, the seven-time champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League successfully defended their top spot on the standings with 54 points accumulated from 30 matches.

Speaking to the club’s media, Ilechukwu acknowledged the significance of the three points gained but also pointed out areas for improvement.

He remarked, “It was a good game in terms of the outcome, but we need to address our mistakes and capitalize better on opportunities, especially in the first half.”

Looking ahead, he added, “We are committed to rectifying the identified shortcomings before our upcoming match. We approach the weekend clash against continental side Rivers United with optimism.”
