Soulja Boy Expresses Interest in Acquiring TikTok

A potential deal in the making is American rapper Soulja Boy revealing his desire to purchase the popular social media platform, TikTok.

Being the first individual to show serious interest in acquiring TikTok, Soulja Boy’s move comes following the enactment of a foreign aid package by U.S. President Joe Biden. This legislation could result in the banning of the Chinese-owned app in the United States if it is not sold off within nine months.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the new law, Soulja Boy took to his X handle, highlighting concerns that the ban of TikTok sets a precedent for potential future bans on other applications or websites.

His sentiment was clear as he stated, “The decision to ban TikTok like this is hard to fathom. It’s not a joking matter. If this action can be taken against one app, then no app or site is safe from such a fate. This is seriously concerning, and the implications will become apparent in time.”

In a playful tone, the rapper teased the idea of acquiring TikTok with a humorous post that read, “I’m willing to take TikTok off your hands. What’s your asking price? Reach out to me @tiktok_us.”

Meanwhile, TikTok has declared its intention to challenge the new law through legal means. Spokesperson Alex Haurek denounced the legislation as “unconstitutional” in a formal statement and pledged to contest it in a court of law.
