Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Manchester United’s head coach, has revealed the club’s intention to give Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo a permanent contract.

Ighalo, signed on a six-month loan contract from the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, has impressed while filling in for the injured Marcus Rashford at Manchester United.

The Ajegunle-born forward continued to display his excellent form with a fine goal in the 5-0 Europa League victory over LASK in Austria, prompting Solksjaer, a huge fan of Ighalo, to affirm that the player has already proven himself worthy of a place in the Manchester United squad next season.
