On International Women’s Day 2020, Governor Sanwo-Olu launched the first of a series of initiatives under the #Eko4Women campaign to mark this year’s celebration themed, #EachForEqual. Tragedy struck for Yusuf Bawa, an outrider in Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo's convoy, as he lost his wife just hours after narrowly escaping an accident involving the vice-president. On Friday, March 13, while en route to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the vice-president's convoy was involved in an accident that claimed the life of one of his escorts, Ali Gomina. Reports revealed that Inspector Gomina, who tragically lost his life, was filling in for Bawa as he was attending to his sick wife. Sadly, Bawa's wife passed away the following morning.
