Tragic Loss for Osinbajo’s Escort After Narrowly Escaping Convoy Accident

Tragedy struck for Yusuf Bawa, an outrider in Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s convoy, as he lost his wife just hours after narrowly escaping an accident involving the vice-president.

On Friday, March 13, while en route to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the vice-president’s convoy was involved in an accident that claimed the life of one of his escorts, Ali Gomina.

Reports revealed that Inspector Gomina, who tragically lost his life, was filling in for Bawa as he was attending to his sick wife. Sadly, Bawa’s wife passed away the following morning.

Vice President’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, disclosed that the late Gomina was struck by a hit-and-run Toyota Camry, which flung him against an oncoming truck while he was attempting to clear the way for the Vice President’s motorcade.
