Death toll in Lagos explosion climbs to 20

As of Sunday, the death toll resulting from the explosion in the Abule Ado area of Lagos state on March 15th has now reached 20.   On Monday morning, the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority LASEMA discovered three additional bodies from the debris of some of the collapsed buildings at the Bethlehem Girls College in Abule-Ado.   Previously, 17 bodies, including that of a family of four, were recovered on March 16 from the explosion site.

The Nigerian Police Force brought Bala Hamisu, also known as Wadume, and 18 others before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court on charges of terrorism, murder, kidnapping, and illegal arms possession.   Wadume, a high-profile kidnapping suspect, was arrested by the police in Taraba state on August 6th.
