Fulani Vigilante Group Surrenders Attire and Equipment to Police in Nasarawa

A total of 267 pairs of uniforms, 102 black belts, and 189 infantry lanyards were returned to the Nasarawa State Police Command by the Nomad Vigilante Group of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.

This action follows the recent directive issued by Governor Abdullahi Sule to prohibit ethnic vigilante groups and similar organizations in the state.

In a statement released on Saturday, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, mentioned, “Five hundred and sixty-four (564) black berets, three hundred and thirty-nine (339) black/ten (10) white lanyards, along with two (2) identification cards were also handed back to the Police by the banned group.”

The Commissioner of Police urged those who are yet to comply with the Executive Order to do so before the two-week ultimatum elapses, ensuring that the enforcement of the ban will be strictly adhered to.

Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, the leader of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, alleged that Governor Sule allocated N15 million for the purchase of uniforms for the group members.

According to disclosures from Bodejo during his detainment by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), which were reported in a national daily, an additional N15 million was provided by the state for the group’s mobilization and venue rental for the launching event held in January, although only half of the amount was disbursed to him.

He was apprehended on January 24, 2024, in the Karu Local Government Area of the state and was recently charged in a Federal High Court in Abuja with three counts related to terrorism for the alleged formation of an illegal ethnic militia group named Kungiya Zaman Lafiya.
