The Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, is in mourning following the passing of veteran actor Ganiyu Oyeyemi, who was fondly called Ogunjimi.
News of his demise was shared by his colleague, Kunle Afod, on Instagram.
Afod expressed their efforts in trying to save Ogunjimi but ultimately surrendered to the will of God.
In a heartfelt message, he bid farewell to his friend, saying, “We tried our best but God loves you more. May his soul rest in peace, Baba Ogunjinmi. RIP. Sun re oooo.”
The reason behind Ogunjimi’s death remains unknown at this time.
His passing comes shortly after the loss of another Nollywood actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, known as Sisi Quadri.
