NiMet’s Weather Forecast for the Next 3 Days: Sunshine and Thunderstorms

Anticipate a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Thursday to Saturday as per the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet.

On Thursday, expect sunny skies in Northern cities with possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms in parts of Taraba State. Benue may also experience sunny skies with isolated thunderstorms later in the day. Meanwhile, the southern region will witness a blend of clouds and sunshine during the morning, transitioning to isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening in states like Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Ogun, Imo, Oyo, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Lagos, and Bayelsa.

Friday will bring sunny weather to the North, except for isolated thunderstorms in Adamawa and Taraba states during the afternoon and evening. The North Central region should start the day with sunny spells and may see isolated thunderstorms in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Kogi later on. The South will experience a cloudy morning with intermittent sunshine, followed by possible thunderstorms in Osun, Ondo, Imo, Enugu, Abia, Edo, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Rivers, and Bayelsa in the afternoon and evening.

Heading into Saturday, sunny skies are expected in the Northern region in the morning, with chances of isolated thunderstorms in places like Adamawa, Taraba, and southern Kaduna later in the day. The North Central region will see a mix of sun and clouds, along with possible isolated thunderstorms in Kwara, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue states, and the FCT during the afternoon and evening. On the other hand, the South will have a cloudy morning with some sunshine, and potential thunderstorms in parts of Edo, Delta, Cross River, and Bayelsa. Afternoon and evening may bring isolated thunderstorms to states like Imo, Enugu, Abia, Edo, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Cross River, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, and Bayelsa.
