NAF Reports 30 Terrorist Leaders and Fighters Killed in Borno Airstrikes

During a recent operation, the air component of Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK) carried out a precise airstrike on the hideouts of ISWAP terrorists in Kolleram village near Lake Chad, resulting in the elimination of more than 30 fighters.

In a press release issued by AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, it was disclosed in Abuja on Tuesday that the airstrikes conducted on April 13 dealt a significant blow to terrorism in the North-East region.

The operation was deemed a success as a post-strike assessment confirmed the neutralization of more than 30 terrorists, including notable insurgent leaders such as Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari.

Furthermore, a considerable number of vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical assets were destroyed, severely impacting the terrorists’ operational capacity.

According to intelligence reports following the airstrikes, a key facility within the Kolleram stronghold used by the terrorists for food processing, including grinding machines, was effectively taken out.

The success of these airstrikes reaffirms the NAF’s dedication to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding Nigerian citizens.

Through the elimination of key terrorist figures and disruption of their logistical support, the operation has significantly weakened the capabilities of the ISWAP group in the area.

These airstrikes complement the continuous ground operations in the Lake Chad region and mark a pivotal advancement in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria,” noted Gabkwet.
