The Israeli Armed Forces have reported the launch of projectiles from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel in apparent retaliation for the Israeli bombing this Sunday on the southern neighborhoods of Beirut, the Lebanese capital.
Iranian media have reported that “about four” projectiles have been launched on Israeli territory, specifically on the northern part of the country, according to alerts issued by Israeli authorities. “The Israel Defense Forces have identified the launch of projectiles from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel. The defense systems are activated to intercept the threat,” the Army reported in a statement.
Israel activates alerts and asks the population to take refuge
The Home Front Command of the Israeli Army has issued alerts that have reached the mobile phones of people in the affected areas, explains the military statement. “The population has been asked to take responsibility and act in accordance with the instructions. They save lives. You must enter the protection zones after receiving the notice and stay there until further notice,” the message warns. You can only leave these areas “after receiving explicit instructions” in that regard. “You must continue to act in accordance with the instructions of the Home Front Command.”
