Lagos Government Takes Action Against Noise Pollution, Shuts Down Hotels and Churches

In response to complaints of noise pollution, various establishments in different parts of Lagos State have been temporarily closed down by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA.

The affected areas where these closures have taken place include Ifako-Ijaiye, Abesan Estate, Abule-Egba, Alagbado, Command, and Dopemu.

On Friday, Tokunbo Wahab, the state Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, made an official announcement regarding these shutdowns.

Among the establishments that have been affected by these closures are the Catholic Church, 1602 Hotel, Seventh Heaven Bar & Lounge, Lourita Hotel & Suites, God’s Porch Ministries, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, White Pavilion Hotel, Quest Hotel & Suites, Excel Hotel & Suite, and HoneyComb Confectionery Ltd.

According to the statement released by LASEPA, the closures are a temporary measure aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

LASEPA has stressed the importance of businesses adhering to environmental standards to mitigate noise pollution.
