Last year, Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku’s representative struck a confidential deal, paving the way for the player’s departure this upcoming summer.
As per revelations by Fabrizio Romano, the Blues will insist on a £38m (€44m) transfer fee for Lukaku in the impending transfer window.
This exit clause was established mutually between the parties in the previous summer.
Currently on loan at Roma, Lukaku has the opportunity for a permanent move ahead of the 2024/2025 season if Roma decides to trigger the clause.
In addition, Lukaku is drawing interest from various clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
The talented Belgian, who has had stints at Manchester United and Inter, has excelled during his loan tenure in Italy this season, tallying 20 goals in 44 games across all competitions and supplying four assists for Daniele De Rossi’s squad.
