Labour Party Facing Crisis which Peter Obi Downplays Compared to APC and PDP

Reacting to the turmoil within the Labour Party, LP, its presidential candidate Peter Obi recently shared his thoughts during a press conference in Abuja over the weekend, addressing various pressing national issues.

Obi expressed confidence that the party’s current crisis would be reconciled peacefully, emphasizing that the issues at hand were not insurmountable.

He pointed out that the challenges faced by the Labour Party were minor compared to the tumultuous situations witnessed within the APC and PDP.

In recent times, the LP has been embroiled in internal strife, with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, calling for the resignation of the party’s national Chairman, Julius Abure.

Despite the NLC’s stance, the Abure-led National Working Committee, NWC, proceeded with its national convention in Nnewi, Anambra State, reelecting Abure to his position.

The NLC, however, overturned the outcome of the convention that reaffirmed Abure’s leadership, prompting stakeholders to announce the formation of a transition committee to oversee the party’s affairs until new officials are elected within a three-month period.
