Kano APC disputes Ganduje’s reported suspension, dismisses Ward leaders

Several Ward Party Leaders who attempted to suspend the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, faced consequences when the APC state working committee in Kano intervened.

Reports indicated that APC Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government had moved to suspend Ganduje. However, the party’s local government officials swiftly reacted by quashing the suspension and removing those responsible.

According to the APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, Inusa Dawanau, the individuals behind the National Chairman’s suspension were found engaging in anti-party activities, including holding meetings with opposition members.

Following the suspension of the Ward APC leaders, the state working committee of the party announced sanctions against the culprits for a duration of six months. Additionally, a special investigations panel has been established to probe various allegations against them.

Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano Chairman of the Party, affirmed that the decisions made by the LG Party Leaders have been officially endorsed.

Abbas stated, “We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those involved in the suspension of the National Chairman. The state working committee has unanimously agreed to suspend them for six months.”

On the other hand, one of the accused party members who took action against Ganduje, Halliru Gwanjo, explained that they decided to suspend him from the party in response to bribery allegations leveled by the Kano State government.
