Tragic Incident in Kaduna: Birnin Gwari Locals Suffer Loss of 23 Lives at the Hands of Bandits


In a devastating turn of events, bandits have ruthlessly taken the lives of 23 locals in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Confirmation of this heart-wrenching incident came from the Chief Press Secretary to the Interim Local Government Chairman of Birnin Gwari LGA, Alhassan Ibrahim Saulawa.

Reports reveal that a large group of bandits carried out a brutal attack on Anguwar Danko village, situated in the Kakangi constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of over 20 individuals.

This attack follows a previous invasion by a significant number of bandits on the community, during which gunshots rang out and several residents were taken captive.

The bandits were able to operate without hindrance in a community located approximately 10 kilometers from Dogon Dawa village in the same LGA.

Mallam Yahaya Musa Dan Salio also confirmed the tragic incident, reporting the loss of 23 residents and injury to five others.

He mentioned that some of the abducted villagers managed to flee into the wilderness during the chaotic events.

Sharing further details, he commented, “Casualties were reported following the Wednesday invasion in my constituency; a total of 23 lives were tragically lost at the hands of the bandits, with 19 victims at Anguwar Danko and 4 at Kanawa village, where they were laid to rest on Thursday.”

Furthermore, he disclosed that cattle were also stolen from the community during the violent attack.

The Interim Chairman, Salisu Isah, personally visited the community to extend condolences and assistance to the impacted villagers and the wounded individuals.

He also indicated that the precise count of abducted persons remained uncertain as many were still unaccounted for after fleeing into the bush to escape the brutality.
