‘Invitation to APC’ – Uche Nwosu Extends Invitation to Ihedioha and Other Former Imo PDP Leaders

Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the former Commissioner for Lands in Imo State, has extended an invitation to the ex-governor of the state, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recently, Ihedioha decided to resign from his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in Mbutu Ward, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Ihedioha expressed that there is a misalignment between his personal beliefs and the current direction of the main opposition party.

He expressed disappointment with recent developments within the PDP, mentioning that the party has strayed from its foundational principles.

Ihedioha raised concerns about the party’s failure to implement internal reforms, uphold its own regulations, and effectively challenge the ruling APC.

“Unfortunately, the party has veered off course from what I believe in. Despite my efforts to advise, the party seems incapable of making internal reforms, ensuring compliance with its rules, or providing a credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

“Given these circumstances, I feel compelled to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party with immediate effect,” Ihedioha stated in his resignation letter.

Ihedioha’s decision triggered a series of high-profile resignations within the PDP in Imo State. State chairman Chief Charles Ugwu, former deputy governor Engr Gerald Irona, and former Education Commissioner Prof Jude Njoku all followed suit in leaving the party.

In response to this development, Uche Nwosu, who previously served as the Chief of Staff to ex-Imo governor Rochas Okorocha, encouraged Ihedioha and the other former Imo PDP leaders to join the APC and collaborate with Governor Hope Uzodimma to advance the state’s development and progress.

Nwosu emphasized that becoming part of the ruling APC would allow them to work alongside the governor and other patriotic citizens to propel Imo forward.

Nwosu also highlighted that joining the APC would grant Ihedioha and the other former Imo PDP leaders a platform to actively contribute to the success of the administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

“I have been observing the developments in the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where notable figures have resigned from their positions, including Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, his deputy in the 2019 governorship election, Hon. Irona, and several other party leaders and members.

“It is apparent that the most appropriate course of action for them at this juncture is to align with the ruling party, APC. This is the most progressive step they can take, enabling them to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu, Governor Hope Uzodimma, and other party leaders at both the national and state levels for the advancement of our nation.

“Upon their decision to join the APC, they will receive a warm welcome, working in unison to drive progress in the state and beyond to the South East region and the entire nation,” Nwosu commented.

Nwosu praised Ihedioha and the other leaders for their departure from the PDP, emphasizing that transitioning to the APC is the optimal and most strategic move for them.

He expressed hope that they would recognize the wisdom in aligning with his perspective.
