Expressing concern over President Bola Tinubu’s recent unannounced trip to London, Maverick singer, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has raised questions about Tinubu’s health.
President Tinubu reportedly left Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for London, England, after attending the World Economic Forum in the Gulf nation, and has been in transit since departing Nigeria for the Netherlands on April 23.
The absence of any official statements from the Presidency regarding Tinubu’s sudden trip to London has sparked various reactions.
Charly Boy, in his reaction, pondered the well-being of the President and criticized the Presidency for spreading what he called “fake and twisted lies” that are causing tension in the country.
He suggested that Tinubu is not fit to lead Nigeria and called for his resignation.
Posting on his X handle on Monday, Charly Boy wrote: “Where is your President? Is everything okay with him?
“The propaganda machinery of Tinubu has been spreading misinformation, but mere propaganda cannot replace solid economic policies.
“Is Peter Obi the reason Nigerians are suffering like this? Did Peter Obi expose APC’s incompetence?
“Is fake propaganda now the preferred tool of the APC to discredit any opposition using ethnicity and religion as their weapons? Obi has been unjustly targeted by these mischievous individuals.
“Nigeria is in a state of failure. Tinubu, please step down, this responsibility is too much for you.”
