Jigawa Chief Judge Urges New Magistrates to Uphold Integrity in the Judiciary

Addressing nine recently appointed magistrates, the Chief Judge of Jigawa State and Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission, Hon. Justice Umar M. Sadiq, emphasized the critical need to combat corruption and enhance the reputation of the judiciary.

A press release, issued by the State Judiciary’s Director of Protocol & Publicity, Abbas Rufa’i Wangara, underscored this message.

The Chief Judge highlighted that the selection process for the magistrates involved rigorous written assessments and interviews conducted by a special committee established by the commission to appoint dedicated and trustworthy officials in the State Judicial system.

He admonished the newly appointed magistrates to steer clear of any corrupt practices and bribery, urging them to uphold the values of integrity and lead efforts to rebuild the judiciary’s standing at the grassroots level, serving as the ultimate recourse for ordinary citizens.

Furthermore, he urged them to be well-prepared to tackle the challenges inherent in their roles.

In conclusion, the Chief Judge called upon the new magistrates to demonstrate honesty, hard work, and live up to the expectations placed on them.

The list of appointees comprises Yusuf Rabi’u Abubakar, Nasiru Bala Ibrahim, Rabi’u Aminu Sabo, and Abubakar Haladu, alongside Fa’iza Kamilu Abubakar Auwal Husain Adam, Babani Musa, Hassan Ya’u, and Isma’il Muhammad.
