God’s Displeasure with Nigeria’s Killings, as A’Ibom cleric Claims

Expressing concerns over the crisis in Jos, Plateau State, His Lordship Marshall Edidem, the Custodian of Spiritual Kingdom Church of Christ Mission in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, has urged for continuous prayers and fasting for divine intervention. He emphasized the potency of prayers in averting severe calamities in the country. The recent attack on Christmas Eve resulted in the tragic massacre of over 200 innocent individuals in some communities in Jos, Plateau State, by unidentified gunmen.

In a discussion with our correspondent in the state capital, Uyo, on Thursday, Edidem stressed the crucial need for sustained prayers and fasting to resolve the Jos crisis. He emphasized, “Nigerians have to fast and pray and ask God for intervention in the Jos crisis. It is sustained prayers to God that will bring an end to the crises in Jos. There will surely be a way out of the crises and God will certainly bring the solution to it.”

Regarding the church’s Founder Day, which was observed on January 2, Edidem mentioned that the day has been commemorated annually since 1946 when the church was founded, with the primary focus of offering prayers for peace throughout the country.

Obong Samuel Edidem, the Chief Priest of the church, also expressed his thoughts on the Founder’s Day, lamenting the pervasive hardship in the country. He emphasized the necessity of God’s intervention to alleviate such adversity. He also indicated that attributing all calamities to the government is not entirely correct, suggesting that some are a result of God’s displeasure.
