Bacary Sagna, the former French defender, suggested that Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title might have been affected by dropping points against Fulham.
Arsenal had a 2-2 draw with Marco Silva’s team at the Emirates and suffered a 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage.
Additionally, Mikel Arteta’s squad faced defeats both home and away against Aston Villa during this season.
Sagna believes that the matches against Fulham specifically have potentially cost Arsenal the title.
He expressed his views, stating, “It’s a challenge to articulate what Arsenal needs to secure the league title – they possess quality across every position. They have maintained consistency and are delivering a remarkable season.
“The only lingering concern could be the losses to Fulham on the road and the drawn match at home.
“For me, those moments were pivotal – dropping crucial points in those encounters. Arsenal stands as a top-tier team, yet the outcomes of those matches that should have been won have repercussions. Although they have demonstrated more maturity, those fixtures will have significant consequences.”
