Renowned ex-Manchester United player, Gary Neville, has expressed his opinion that Martin Odegaard is currently the top midfielder in his specific role, just ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming showdown with Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Odegaard has been in formidable form this season, boasting 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions.
The Norwegian team captain showcased another stellar performance in Arsenal’s impressive 5-0 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday night.
Neville has lauded the 25-year-old as the standout player in midfield due to his recent displays.
Discussing Arsenal’s overall showing, Neville shared his thoughts on his podcast saying: “Their performance was very good, excellent to be precise.
“Their form was outstanding, especially during the initial 25 minutes against Aston Villa when we watched them a couple of weeks back, playing some exceptional football.
“Odegaard is performing mesmerizingly at the moment, and I believe he has now established himself as the premier player in his position, based on his style of play.”
