Manchester United faces potential injury woes ahead of Coventry FA Cup clash

Concerns loom over the fitness of key Manchester United players, particularly Harry Maguire, as they gear up to take on Coventry in the upcoming FA Cup semi-final.

As the Red Devils prepare for the crucial match, manager Erik ten Hag finds himself grappling with several defensive setbacks.

The likes of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, and Tyrell Malacia are already sidelined, exacerbating United’s defensive woes.

Maguire’s availability is also hanging in the balance, given his absence from training sessions earlier in the week.

Addressing the press on Friday, ten Hag expressed, “We are facing some challenges, as I previously mentioned. Harry [Maguire] encountered some difficulties during the Bournemouth game due to a minor injury. He has been sidelined from training sessions this week but is expected to rejoin the team today.”

“We anticipate his availability for Sunday’s match,” he continued optimistically.

Regarding other injured players, he stated, “Both Antony and Scott [McTominay] are likely to make a return. Scott missed training sessions throughout the week but is expected to participate fully today. As for Antony, he has been training consistently all week.”
