EPL: Pochettino criticizes Madueke and Jackson for dispute over penalty decision with Cole Palmer

In their 6-0 victory against Everton, Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, expressed his disappointment over the altercation between Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madueke regarding a penalty kick, labeling it as “regrettable” and “an unfortunate incident”.

The three players engaged in a dispute over who would take the penalty, with Palmer eventually stepping up to score his fourth goal of the game and extend Chelsea’s lead to 5-0.

When Conor Gallagher passed the ball to Palmer, Madueke and Jackson attempted to take it from the 21-year-old, resulting in a chaotic scene at Stamford Bridge.

After the match, Pochettino told Sky Sports: “It’s regrettable, it’s regrettable.

“We cannot condone such behavior. I made it clear that I will not tolerate this kind of conduct anymore.

“Today, I clarified to the fans and everyone that Cole Palmer is the designated penalty taker.

“If Palmer chooses to pass the ball to someone else, he can do so, but not in this manner.

“It’s truly disheartening what occurred, and I will not allow it to happen again.”
