Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United defender, believes that Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to progress to the Champions League semi-finals over Arsenal.
Both teams are set to face each other in the second leg of their quarter-final in Germany on Wednesday.
Arsenal will be aiming to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2009.
Following a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates, Arsenal’s morale may have been affected by a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at home on Sunday.
While Bayern secured a victory against Koln on Saturday, they have already conceded their Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, with five matches remaining.
Expressing his thoughts ahead of the Munich showdown, Ferdinand commented: “I believe Bayern Munich have the upper hand.
“Playing at home and possessing a wealth of European experience, Bayern are in a favorable position.
“Although Arsenal could emerge victorious, my bet is on Bayern Munich.”
