Deadly Confrontation Claims Lives of Notorious Bandits in Zamfara


In a recent skirmish involving three rival bandit groups in Zamfara State, two infamous bandit leaders, Kachala Gwande and Kachallah Madagwal, along with 12 others, have been killed in Kaurar Zomo village, located in the Kunchin Kalgo district of Tsafe Local Government Area.

According to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst in Lake Chad with expertise in counter-insurgency, the clash saw the groups of Alhaji Tsauni, Kachallah Jafaru, and Kachallah Gwandu pitted against each other in a fierce gun battle on Thursday around 1545 hours.

Jafaru, a well-known bandit leader operating from Faskari LGA in Katsina State, instigated the conflict by moving into Kaurar Zomo village, which was under Tsauni’s control.

During the confrontation, Jafaru’s group was initially overwhelmed by Gwande and his fighters before the situation escalated to involve Kachallah Madagwal’s group, resulting in another intense exchange of gunfire.

Following the deaths of Gwande and Madagwal, injured bandits were swiftly taken to Munhaye Health Facility for urgent medical treatment.

Local residents have been visiting the battleground to witness the aftermath and confirm the demise of the neutralized bandits.
