Nigerian afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has pledged a donation of 300 million Naira to orphanages across Nigeria.
The announcement was made on his X account, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday. He also mentioned that he would provide details of the distribution on Wednesday.
Working through his foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation, Davido has been consistently making annual contributions to orphanages.
In his post, Davido wrote, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow.”
This is not the first instance of Davido offering support to foster homes in Nigeria.
According to a report by PUNCH Online in November 2021, Davido donated N250m to 292 orphanages to mark his 29th birthday.
In July 2023, it was also reported that the musician contributed N237 million to over 400 orphanages in Nigeria.
