NYSC plays huge role in Nigeria’s election process – Bauchi Gov, Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has emphasized the crucial role that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) plays in Nigeria’s electoral process. He assured Corps members of his government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing their safety and welfare at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch “A” Stream 1 Corps Members at the permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Auwal Jatau, acknowledged the significant contribution of NYSC members to electoral integrity over the years. He expressed the government’s dedication to enhancing the scheme and appreciates the efforts of all the training agencies involved.

Emphasizing the government’s readiness to improve the lot of the scheme, the governor assured the corps members of adequate security measures for their safety. He also highlighted the positive impact of NYSC on youth development, citing its influence in instilling values of industry, hard work, patriotism, and loyalty in service, eventually leading to socio-economic development through community efforts.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Rifkatu Yakubu, outlined the objectives of the orientation course, which aims to prepare corps members mentally, physically, and emotionally for their service year. A total of 1,276 corps members, consisting of 697 males and 579 females, were registered for the program.
