Cubana Chief Priest enters a plea of not guilty in court

Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, a businessman and socialite, stood before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday and denied allegations of tampering with and abusing the naira.

During his trial, Cubana Chief Priest faced three charges related to his actions of disturbing the nation’s currency at a social gathering, as outlined in the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The incident in question took place on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, where Cubana Chief Priest was accused of spraying money and mishandling the naira while dancing at the event.

Specifically, he was accused of improperly handling N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying them for over two hours.
