Concerned NNPP Stakeholders Pass Vote of No Confidence on Governor Yusuf Amid Kano Political Crisis

Amid the ongoing political crisis in Kano State, some stakeholders of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) across the 19 Northern States have collectively expressed their lack of confidence in Governor Abba Yusuf.

In a communique released on Monday, signed by the group’s President, Hon. Attahiru Musa, Secretary, Hon. Simon Pam, and other members, they voiced their disappointment with the direction the NNPP is taking in Kano State.

Stating that the party has fallen short in Kano, the NNPP leaders criticized the state’s leadership, deeming it as even worse than the central government and previous administrations.

Highlighting the initial optimism that surrounded Governor Abba Yusuf’s leadership, the stakeholders emphasized that the party failed to live up to expectations, leaving them disillusioned and without a strong voice to challenge the ruling APC government.

It was envisioned that Kano State would set a benchmark for good governance and effective leadership, but the reality has failed to match these expectations, they lamented.

The rift between Governor Yusuf and his predecessor, now the National Chairman of the APC, Umar Ganduje, has fueled tensions in the state. The government’s announcement of plans to prosecute Ganduje for alleged financial misconduct during his tenure as governor has further intensified the political feud.
