Adamawa State Proposes N55.5bn Supplementary Budget

The plan for the 2024 financial year in Adamawa State includes a proposed supplementary budget of N55.5bn.

Neido Kofulto, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, shared this information during a briefing with journalists in Yola on Tuesday evening, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria.

Aiming to address projects that were not initially accounted for in the main budget, the decision on the supplementary budget was made during an emergency executive council meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta.

Kofulto mentioned, “The council resolution on the supplementary estimate will soon be presented to the State House of Assembly for ratification and approval.”

Mr. Emmanuel Piridimso, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, explained that the supplementary budget was introduced to fund additional projects due to the state’s improved financial standing.

The ministries set to benefit from the supplementary budget include Education, Women’s Affairs, Commerce and Industries, Works, and Energy Development, among others.

It is worth noting that on December 9, 2023, the Adamawa State government initially presented an appropriation estimate of N225.8bn.
