Adamawa State Government Gives Nod to N55 Billion Supplementary Budget

For the 2024 fiscal year, the Adamawa State Government has given the green light to a total of N55,256,595,280 as a supplementary budget.

On Tuesday, the State Executive Council, SEC, gave its approval during an emergency session at the Government House in Yola.

Shortly after the SEC meeting, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Geoffrey Kufalto, made the announcement about the approval, which was overseen by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta.

Stressing the importance of this move, Kufalto mentioned that the approval of the supplementary budget is a crucial step towards ensuring that ongoing projects do not come to a halt midway.

Explaining the rationale behind the supplementary budget, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso, mentioned that the green light was given following an infusion of funds into the state.

“With the availability of additional funds, the supplementary budget was approved. Some projects that were not initially included in the 2024 budget have now been incorporated due to these funds,” he elaborated.

It is worth noting that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had previously signed a budget of N225.8 billion for the year 2024 back in December last year.
